Von Haus Piner Boxers, where health, beauty, and functionality come together, well … beautifully!
Howdy from Von Haus Piner Boxers!
Hi, my name is Fawnda Piner, and I raise European Boxers, with an emphasis on correct, working temperament and drive, beautiful type, and top health for companionship, performance sports, or guardians!
My kennels are located in East Texas. I am a small hobby breeder of registered European Boxers and typically will have one litter per year, occasionally two. I earn my living as a software developer and I spend that living on my boxers!
I show my boxers in conformation in both UKC and IABCA. My passions are raising puppies and agility. My boxers are International Champions and my German Shepherds have numerous titles in agility and rally/obedience.
I breed for proper working dog temperament for excellent companionship, a balanced, square structure, with strong bone substance, and wonderful European type. My lines retain the European’s heavier bone substance and exquisite head piece. My dogs are fully health tested prior to breeding. The health and longevity of the puppies I produce are very important to me. I owe my foundation to Jeannie McElroy of Big Mac Boxers and the wonderful imported working and show lines in her pedigrees. Her mentorship has meant a lot to me, and I intend to do her proud with my program.
I love raising puppies with the aim of providing wonderful companions to great homes. I believe in providing enriched puppy development from the time they are born until they go home at 9 weeks. I work to build a relationship with my puppy buyers. I am there for them for the life of their dog.
Feel free to contact me with any questions you might have about my program.
What am I passionate about as a breeder?
Working Dog and Companion Temperament
We breed for a proper temperament: Intelligent, alert, dignified, confident, loyal, affectionate, very playful, curious, patient with kids, agreeableness to disciplined training, and courageous when protection is desired or needed. It is our intent that our pups will be great companions first, with a natural ability to excel at performance sports or work in protection if further trained to do so.
Correct Type
The perfect boxer is a medium-size, square built dog with well-developed muscles. His movement exhibits energy, with an elastic gait, and proud carriage. He combines strength and agility with elegance and style. The head is his most distinctive feature. The muzzle should be broad and blunt with an appropriate undershot. It must be in correct proportion to the head and the head to the body. His eyes are a dark brown and very expressive. European Boxers appear to have a more robust appearance, with larger bone structure, larger head, and a stouter shorter muzzle than the American Boxer.
Health Testing
We test our breeding stock with OFA Hips and Elbows X-rays, Thyroid Panel, Ascultation & Doppler Echocardiogram, Holter Monitor for Boxer Cardiomyopathy and genetic test for Degenerative Myelopathy (DM). The health and longevity of the puppies I produce are very important to me. DM is a huge genetic issue in boxers and my goal is to have lines that are 100% DM free. Given that goal, I will only breed to DM free studs.
